Level 1

Field Collection:
3D laser scanning team on the site to perform 3D laser scanning data collection

Deliverable: Native raw scanner format (point cloud) or .stl format

Scan data post processing is not:
Registered together, filtered, normals reviewed, or noise reduced, aligned orthogonally, or aligned to a specified coordinate system, taken apart into its separate components, watertight, or provided in .stp or .iges model formats

Software required: Registration/alignment software, reverse engineering software

Level of expertise required: Advanced

Use Cases: 
Client is supplementing in-house laser scanning team, or requires assistance on larger scanning project.

Level 2

Field Collection:
3D laser scanning team on the site to perform 3D laser scanning data collection

Deliverable: .stl format

Scan data post processing is: Registered together and aligned orthogonally

Scan data post processing is not: Taken apart into its separate components, watertight, normals reviewed, aligned to specified coordinate system, or provided in .stp or iges formats

Software required: Registration/alignment software, reverse engineering software

Level of expertise required: Advanced

Use Cases: 
Client doesn’t have field scanning team, but has reverse engineering team

Level 3

Field Collection:
3D laser scanning team on the site to perform 3D laser scanning data collection

Deliverable: .stl format

Scan data post processing is (On a client option basis):
Registered together, aligned to specified coordinate system, taken apart into its separate components, noise reduced, normals reviewed, filtered, and watertight

Scan data post processing is not: 
Provided in .stp or .iges model formats

Software required: 
Reverse engineering software

Level of expertise required: Intermediate

Use Cases: 
Client doesn’t have field scanning team, but has reverse engineering team with no scan 

Level 4

Field Collection:
3D laser scanning team on the site to perform 3D laser scanning data collection

Deliverable: .stl and .iges or .stp formats

Scan data post processing is:
Registered together, aligned to specified coordinate system, noise reduced, filtered normals reviewed, watertight and 3D model in .stp or .iges format provided

Software required:
Not required if wanting to go straight into fabrication

Level of expertise required: None.
Files are ready to go into fabrication.
Note: Fabricator to create files ready for machining.

Use Cases:
Client looking for a complete turnkey scan 3D Model solution. Filling in one line item of their Prime Contract. Complete hands off
